i have a 2.0 with emissions and the 2 bbl carb. i'm looking at getting a pacesetter header and take off all the emission(smog) stuff. what if anything will this effect? i also have stock exhaust with no cat, will this make it louder? i would like to keep it quiet.

It won't be much louder, nothing anyone outside the vehicle is going to notice. Not if you get it sealed up correctly anyway. Some of them are hard to keep sealed and they leak a lot.

is there anything i should know about removing all the smog stuff? will affect the carb or anything?

Leave the evap lines and carbon canister because those are 100% help, no hurt. Ditch the AIR pump because they were awful, same with EGR, it never seems to work right on a carb. Oh, and get a cat back in there. If it wasn't plugged it wasn't hurting.

dad took the cat off like 3 days after he bought the truck new and the belt for the air pump
