allright i have been search the fourms to find the answer to my question.what i have is im doing a v8 swap along with my sas on my 88 ranger and i have a set of shorty headers unequal lenght for a fox body mustang and i was wondering if they would work with out buyin the ones for the swap i got them for free thats why i ask.but from what i have gathered is the on the pass. side the frame would have to be slightly modified and possible steering modified.i was woundering if this correct what i have gathered.

i had the hedman headers made for the swap and still had to clearance my pas side frame rail. dont think the mustang headers will work... but give it a try, free is GOOD!

I have hedman's too. Needed to grind a small notch in the pass. side rail, and it sits really close to the steering shaft, but it should clear.

You couldn't have searched, that question comes up frequently here. The passenger side fits only with a large notch cut out of the frame rail top. The only Mustang shortys that clear the drivers side are the 94-95's.

sorry if i asked a question that gets freqently asked.but you can only do so much searching on a lunch break.just wanted to make sure i was understanding i correctly for what i found.

I'm useing headman headers too and they cleared no problem just had a little notching were the starter is but other than that they were predict with the mustang mounts

when i changed to a manual trans my hedmans wouldnt clear the slave cyl on the drivers side, so i got some explorer headers now and they clear the slave... had to make another notch on the pass side, but i think they will work out better, PLUS... if i find a good deal on some ported "P" heads, it is now a bolt on! :headbang:

the explorer headers might not work out on the drivers side for everyone though... i just remembered i dont have a steering box to contend with.
