i just bought new head gaskets for my 82 ford ranger but there are some ports that are on the block and the heads but not the gasket... Also why is it that my title says 82 but when i shop there only seems to be 83 parts for the ranger.... can anyone help me?

I've seen missing holes in gaskets before, sometimes it's by design and sometimes its a mistake. the first model year is 83 but they started selling them in 82.

I would think it should still be titled as an '83 though...

You can email Ford with your VIN and they will look up and give you all the specifics on your truck if you want to know more about it. Generally '83 parts should fit it unless there is something freaky about it...

Also make sure you have the gaskets going the right way, I know on 289/302's they almost line up perfectly aside from a blocked coolant passage with them going the wrong way.
