Hey,
got this new 4cyl head gasket off a salvage and aren't s sure if it's for the 2.0l or 2.3l. Anyone seen this gasket before?

Can you give us better pics of the package? It might have a part number that would be helpful.

I'd be willing to bet that it is for the 2.3...just from the gap between the cylinders...but it doesn't actually look like a Ford head gasket...

The rectangular openings on the upper side of the image don't look right from what I remember...the last one I put on had only the triangular openings on both sides...maybe an older style head though...or the 2.3 gasket from a Tempo...

So, yeah, a part number certainly would clear up any confusion...

I think it might be for a 2.3l tempo... Manufactured by corteco, the only part number labeled is 20525CS HEAD GASKET FORD (4) 140,153 1984-94

FORD (4) 140,153 1984-94

Ford, 4cyl, 140ci (2.3l) 153ci (2.5l)

it's all right there...

the only thing i dont get is that the 2.5 didnt come out till the late 90's, right? so why does it list the model year range ending in 94?

They stopped making the Tempo/Topaz in 1994 I believe...and I think the reference to the 2.5 is simply an error...although the gasket "might" fit a Lima 2.3/2.5, I don't know if I'd use it with those large rectangles allowing the coolant to seep between the head and the block...probably an oil passage or two in there on the Lima blocks...

I knew there was a 4-cyl Taurus at one point, but I didn't know the displacement.
