Hi all. So I finally took the time today to change out the head gasket on my ranger! :headbang:

The only problem I've got is that I can't remember which vacuum tubes go where on the back of the carb. I know one is for the pcv, and I think the other gets blocked up, but I'm not sure. I've got the old 1983 2.8L engine.

Also, on somewhat of a side-note, I simply CANNOT get the vacuum hose back onto the power valve. And tips/tricks on forcing a stubborn hose? Thanks!

In the picture, the unknown hose fittings are circled. There's also an empty bolt hole that's circled... don't think anything went there, but I want to make sure lol.

Also... there's something that I found today that says "to carb" but I have NO idea what it is. I don't think it was hooked up before either... anyone know?

Soak the hose in warm water, that will soften it.

Yes, PCV valve
the other ....do you have power brakes?

Could be a bracket bolt hole, maybe for something not on your model

Autozone has one
