Went by the lake today and shot a couple pics of my truck. This is my favorite . . .

I also came across this little gem - turns out it belongs to the son of the owner of the marina near my house.

LOL - Cro-Magnon Truck

Both are great looking trucks. Nice to see some really sharp street builds.

that 2nd gen looks hot

why do you have 2 different wheels on yours?

The Cobra rims that were on the front were rubbing my shock mounts because they are so damn wide. I am going to put similar wheel on the back but I need two 15" Deer Track rims so I can get some wider tires.

ooo you shaved your doors....nice...how long did that take you>

Shaving the handles didn't take all that much, they can be done in a day if you dedicate yourself and have all the components together.

Essentially:

Remove outer handle
grind/sand paint around edge of opening
place filler panel and tack weld in place
carefully spot/tack weld all around the panel
let cool
grind the welds smooth
apply a thin coat of filler putty
let dry
sand smooth and repeat for low spots
apply a glazing putty to get the fine scratches from sanding
spray with primer
paint area same color as body

I know it all sounds really simple, but you do need to have some body working skills to make it look nice.

Now that you have the handle shaved - NO DON'T CLOSE THE DOOR :fie:

LOL - Seriously though, without a handle you need to have a way to get in - on the drivers door I have a solenoid operated through my alarm remote, a spring loaded popper opens the door when the solenoid pulls the latch. The passenger side uses the key cylinder to actuate the latch and open the door - serves as my emergency entry in case the batter dies.

Thanks for the comments - - - -:bye:
