I know its just a ford 2.8 v6 in the ford rangers but has anyone ever turbod the rangers with this engine? i just wonder if they can hold up too just a little boost not much im saying 5psi hehe i want just a little more power and i think it be very different too wonder how hard it be too use a durasparked 2100 carb setup and adapting a turbo on it. use like a small turbo maybe a holset hx35 or even small for more bottom end power a mitsubishi te04 but idk if the engines can hold up just a few pounds of boost, so if anyone has done it or knows of anyone that has info tell me please i want pics of setup. thanks

I'm thinking it is a waste of time/money on a 2.8 or even a 2.9. You could swap in a 4.0 for so much cheaper and easier and get more power than 5psi would net you.

If I remember right, these engines use to have boost on them when they were used in europe for racing.

These engines were modified in big ways in England and Europe - but they didn't have 302's and 4.0's available like we do; so it is a waste of time and money in the USA.

There were a couple of guys in Southern California that put blowers on 2.6's; but that was long ago and I doubt if any of their parts are available.

However, if you have lots of time and money, it might be a fun project.

thanks for the replys

i was just curious about how much the engines would hold up too, mine has allready made it too 400k so it must be tough imo but i would like too convert too a 5sspd and a built 302 or such at least making 300hp too wheels that would be fun daily driver and weekend fun too. Im saying 300hp all motor no spray that just in case something hairy came along beside me lol. Ive least got a rust free truck thats not been rigged just cutup and takin parts off too run better honestly ill take pics of it for all too see what shape it is in
