I was looking at Pittman's original acrylic cleaner, and wondering if anyone has tried it and if it really works. Or, is there some other product that you've found works well (Norvus, Meguair's, etc...) Thanks.

I haven't tried it. I used 3M Headlight Lens Restoration kit. All you need is a drill and masking tape. The kit includes step by step instructions. After a year of doing mine, the headlight lens still looks crystal clear.

My results:

Left headlight lens has been treated. Right headlight lens is not treated.

I haven't used anything like that but have been seeing a lot of ads for a product made by "Mothers" that is said to do the same thing. That 3M stuff looks like it did a pretty good job.

I tried the Mother's one, and it didn't make the slightest bit of difference. I'd go with whichever one has a powerdrill attachment.

I've never used a 'kit', but just sandpaper, polishing compounds and a buffing pad... You usually end up getting way more stuff for just a little but more money... Just make sure you don't sand off the alignment tabs...

Don't waste your $ on headlite kits. Mothers chrome polish does a fine job. Drill with a buffing pad and about 10 minutes is all ya need for both of'em. Thats all I've used for years an years. Even brought the yellow looking ones on the wifes miata back to new.

DEFINITELy go with the 3m kit. The acrylic stuff is just like painting your fingernails, its a quick fix for a deeper problem. And an added coating is why we have that problem in the first place. Its fords UV coating on the headlights that is fading, addding more will just give you the same problem a year from now.
