I have a 1987 Ranger XLT, standard cab, long bed, 2.9L auto with two wheel drive. It has the normal 2.9L oil burning on the side of the engine and used to be in pretty good shape. It only has around 70k miles on it. My aunt bought it new and didn't drive much, and she died around 2003 so we inherited it. It wasn't running so well so it was out in our backyard for a couple years, and then we took it out, had it tuned and replaced minor stuff like the drivers side mirror (it'd flop back at highway speed so we couldn't see) and headlights. The new headlights are clear diamond lamps (see picture).
While we've had it we have been rear-ended by an a-hole in a Lexus SUV, but the insurance company wouldn't do anything about it, and it wasn't the guys first time. The rear tailgate and bumper are bit screwed up, and recently the front right tire came apart and dented the panel just under the door, took off half the Ranger logo, and left a bunch of black on the side (not sure if it'll come off or not). We have new Cooper tires on it, and they look good (Cobra's with white letters... and actually the truck does pretty well off road in the mountains with them). The interior is a bit faded on the back of the seats, it never had a radio (my aunt wanted it her way, and got it), and has a slight crack here and there on the dash. Otherwise the truck is pretty darn good.
This was before any damage:
