harmonic balancer removal

At least it was an easy, cheap fix :icon_thumby:

Couldn't have done it without the help I received on this forum. Thanks for all the info.

You need to put the crank bolt in and thread it two turns. Then get use a pulley puller. Place on the crank bolt. The hole that the bolt goes in. Is only big enough for that bolt. I snapped my balancer trying take it off. So use the crank bolt to push and pull off of.
I have this same balancer/pulley and don't know what type puller your talking about
How do you grad it in the center with no holes to attach the puller to???

It should just slide off after crank bolt is removed without a puller...

It might be rust locked in place. If you have to resort to a puller, use one with at least three pulling arms if you can. Just two arms is harder to work with and has more potential of damaging the pulley.

Also be careful not to pull pulley of of rubber ring on the damper or you will need to replace it

It finallyame off
Good dose of PB. Laster and about a hour to set & soak inworked wonders
I used a small pry bar on left and tapped with brass hammer on right and Walls, slid right off
Thanks for the help, thought I had missed something on it
P.S. the balancer bolt on mine came right out using my SnapOn impact
Seems most people have trouble with that but a good qualityimpact works wonders. ??
