You current rear should be an 8.8 as well.

To get rear discs you'll either have to find 2010 & newer (I think) Ranger or modify an earlier Explorer ('95-'99) rear axle (cheapest). No real advantage to go from 7.5 to 8.8; axles are the same, ring & pinion & bearings are not the weak point unless you're going greater horsepower, aftermarket goodies (lockers) much more available for the 8.8.
I see you're in Athens, Pitts Salvage just west of you - they're good people.

Welcome to TRS, lots of good people & info here.

Looking for rear-end for my 94 ranger just years to total swap out wanting rear brake pads.and keep my 373's what will fit

You're lucky - 3.73 ratio is common in 4wd Rangers, even limited slip isn't too rare - BUT - I know of nothing with rear disc brakes that is a direct bolt in to your '94. Maybe some knowledgeable member will jump in & prove me wrong. I think Ford Motorsports makes a disc brake conversion kit if money is no issue. Back to Pitts - if they have a '95 to '99 Explorer 4wd w/ 3.73 you can have the spring perches flipped over to work on your Ranger. Search the Tech Library on this site (link on task bar above) for everything you need to know.

OK. Have found rear end from a 03 ranger with the marking the owner put on it
Reads 03 year 3.L 55 limited slip 3.55 ratio and also 3151 ??
Will it work on my 94 ranger.as far as gas mileage is 355 ratio better than my 373
Should mount up to my 94 ok

As long as you are not 4x4, it should work. You are correct on the fuel mileage improvement, but it will only be slight, there is not that much difference between a 3.55 and a 3.73. It will throw your speedometer off some, but it will be just slightly also.

Ok

a 3.0L trans will not fit a 4.0L motor. FYI
