Guys, need some help here.

In my auto tranny, when I try to shift from park to any position, the shifter is hard.

I disconnected the cable from the tranny, and the cable disconnected is loose, so the tranny is the one that is hard to shift into any gear, either back or forth.

What could be the cause of this?

There is enough oil in the tranny, it is not overfilled, the tranny does not leak, once in drive, the tranny shifts normal, does not hesitate or spins endlessly on one same gear.

Do I need to take it apart?

This is not normal, I never had any other truck do this, I think I can live with it like this, but like I said, it is not normal.

Any help would be appreciated...

How is the effort to move the selector arm on the side of the trans by hand with the cable off?

Is the cable bracket tight to the trans?
