Ok, its buggin me, I have a 01 Edge with a 3.0 and it is a pain to start after it sits for a few hours. If you just turn the key it spins for awhile before it starts, maybe 8-10 seconds. Now if I spin it for a second, then shut it off, and try again it starts right up.................whats up, does anyone have an answer? There are no codes thrown or stored.

duh, I should have thought of that one. I did change the air filter though, I have only had it for a couple of weeks.

Most times this is a "leak back" problem.. Your fuel is leaking back into the fuel tank when the pump is turned off..
TRY THIS.. When entering your vehicle turn the key to the RUN position for 5 seconds before turning it farther into the START position. If "leak back" is your problem it should start right up..

that's exactly my problem, if I try to start it, I can crank and crank and it won't start. As soon as I let off and then crank again it fires right up. Or if I turn the key on and wait a few seconds (I usually wait until I can hear the radio play) it will start up fine. Is there any way to fix this? It's not a big deal, but it would be nice to be able to start it like normal.

Like you say it's not a big deal and the repair might entail installing a new pump in the fuel tank...that is a bigger deal.

i had the exact same issue with mine and a couple of weeks ago i replaced the filter and it fixed the problem. make sure you get the quick disconnect tool for the filter though, check the tech library there is an article that tell about the tool. i believe you need the 5/16

check the fuel cut out switch I had a problem with my edge and it was the plug going into the cut out switch, it was getting hot and melting and cuting out the fuel pump.
I just bypassed that switch
