hard shift??

I drive a 2wd v6 auto. When i put it in reverse it thuds rely hard, then again when i put it in drive. It shifts with a little thud but no where near as bad when it goes in reverse. any ideas on whats going on?

kinda sounds like your u joints are starting to get weak....have you greased them ever? otherwise you might be looking at major tranny work...ps this isnt the right forum for this topic

Mine is the same way. U-joints are OK in my truck. I plan on getting into the transmission next week. I'll let you know what was wrong when and if I get it straightened out.
