Ok so I need some help its a choic between this ranger and a 4x4 Cherokee xj I found on cj list that's about as clean as the ranger bone stock and pearl white if I can find the post again I'll link to it but I really like this ranger but a 4x4 daily doesn't sound bad either so what do u guys think also I haven't been able to get ahold of the guy with the ranger so who knows if he's even still got it

I would check into what Monstaliner or whatever that is actually is. Darn clean little truck on the outside though. Check it out good.

Looked it up it seems its just hard ass truck bed liner but that stuff hold dirt really easy and its hard to wash it all out also it says its supposed to not fade for 5 years....so idk could I just paint over the shit or....hhhhhmmmm not sure on this one

Seems high to me in that light.

Bedliner would hide all sorts of hideous bodywork too.

I'd ask for more pics of the Ranger...the body angle in the image has the light (sun) almost overhead but slightly behind he photographer...good way to hide body work...

Or if it is close just go have a look...but pay attention to the firewall under the hood and look at the floorboards...from underneath if the flooring can't be moved easily.

My first 88 the floorboards and firewall were in serious shape but I didn't know enough at the time to see that...still got two or three years out of the cab before I had to scrap it...

It's bout an hour from me and the hidious bodywork idea was a concern of mine too

I'd buy the Cherokee way before the Ranger, but definitely not for $2800. I think both of those are overpriced and probably as much as double...isn't OH in the rust belt? I bet there is a shit load of bondo and crap under that bedliner paint job on the Ranger.

I have seen where guys literally sprayed Line-x over huge rust holes - you could not tell there was ANY rust there unless you looked inside the fender. Pretty shady work if you ask me.

Of the 2 the Jeep seems the better ride. But don't be fooled, they have their share of problems too. 4.0 is stout for wheeling too. Check out jeepforum.com and they can tell you all the stuff to check on it. And that is high for an XJ too. I got my 97, GC laredo v-8, fully loaded for that price and it had 127k on it.

JEEP for sure simply because its a 4X4 and has the 4.0 inline 6, nuff said! I wouldn't own a 2wd truck again if you gave it to me!

Thanks for the advice guys I kinda felt like was betraying the rbv group by goin Jeep. but out here people want an ass load of money for a crusty old yj with a hole in the frame and they still want 3500 for it. stuff that only has a couple rust holes in it people think are gold its bullshit

Well I ended up buying that ranger it turned out to be really clean and runs great too I'll post up some pics for ya guys later

Ya got lucky on that one. Personally if I see something has a bed liner paint job, I run. Doesn't matter how much I want the vehicle, I won't touch it.

Don't get why anyone would want to bed liner the exterior of a stock 2wd truck.
