I wish everyone a Happy Celebratory Event....

WTF!!!

Political correctness has gone too far! (Yes, I've actually seen cards with that on it, "For a non-offensive holiday" and the like)

I can't wait for Turkey day here... Hopefully we'll have another black bear over for dinner too....

Yeah, happy turkey gobble!

:headbang: It's noon! Let the thanking and feasting begin!!!!!!! :headbang:

Oh, an i'd like to take a moment to give an extra special thank the neighbour's wife for the ummm, peek, this morning. Mighty neighbourly of you, ma'am. Thank you indeed. :icon_thumby:

Ah, the smell of cooking turkey. Should start to smell it in about an hour !!:yahoo:

So I grew up when history clas told us the truth about american Thanskgiving. Something I feel privelaged for because Im sure the school skew it something fierce now. But in an effort to expand my knowledge, what is the Canadian day Thanksgiving for? And why on this day? It doesnt have anything to do with Labatts Blue does it? I had a friend who used to collect the 1 out of six bottle tops with the large leaf on it. LOL

(rubbing full belly) OOOOOOOHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

:headbang:

Thanks to the cook for the invite ..... and giving me seconds ..... and dessert ..... and leftovers ..... for the next 3 days. :icon_hornsup:

Ahhhh, that was a mighty fine bird...

For those of you south of the border who do not know it, Canada was discovered by the Vikings on or around this day five hundred years prior to Columbus having the first pasta dinner on American shores. So, in honor of that fateful day we all sit around naked, except for our horned helmets.

And since the turkey was the first unfortunate animal to be scorched to a crisp when the Viking spaceship landed in Ontario, we pay homage to that event by cooking a plump turkey and, of course, we utter a prayer of thanksgiving similar to what the other turkeys said for being spared the same fate as their brother bird.

And those famous words are on everyone's lips just before eating the feast..."Gobble, gobble, gobble!"

And, to be honest, I think we have Thanksgiving in October because that is when we have already harvested our crops due to the obvious cold weather and see an abundance of the fruits of our loins, er, labour.

Oh, and also because hockey season has started and we will soon be finished with baseball, basketball, and full contact naked bingo (the ladies dress warmly in the winter).
