I really dont know whats going on with my computer, the only thing i can think of is maybe i've been hacked or my router is freaking out.

But when i go to craigslist or a site like it that marks what i have already read, there are things that are getting marked that i havent looked at yet. Craigslist is the only one i've noticed it on, but idk if its because someone is using my computers internet for there own, or if its possibly because my router is linking my computer to someone elses in the house.

I'm not a computer guy so can someone tell me what i can do to fix it.

ps i live 3 miles down a deadend dirt road so i dont think anybody would be able to use my wireless without me knowing.

Any help would be appreciated

If you are seeing off colored links indicating that you've visited them before that cannot be accomplished by someone else logging into your account

Those off colored indications are created with cookies, cookies that only exsist on your machine.

If you log into your own account with another computer you won't see them

what he said ^^

your browser must be blocking cookies.. idk, google it! lol

IDK, I use different computers to check here, all the time, and my account is always able to show me the correct history.

Well i'm the only person that uses this computer we all have our own laptops and this is the only account on my computer. But like i said its showing on craigslist that i've already viewed stuff i havent even if no one else is online i can go there and show that i've visted links that i havent.

Its just a little worrying that someone could be inside my computer

I've had that happen to me also...no big deal...not a hack...

But if you want to know if someone is in your computer just toss some hot coffee on the box and if you hear a scream you'll know someone is in there...you could also leave cookies and milk by the mouse pad at night and if they're gone in the morning...follow the crumbs and you'll find them...

it could be a condition called dissociative identity disorder

i wouldn't worry about it

maybe there's a problem with the cookies or the way the browser is handling them. you could try deleting them. No harm in that. if you're using internet explorer go to tools, internet options then delete and it will ask you what you want to delete. otherwise i wouldn't worry about it, doesn't appear to be anything major.

A: put a strong password on your computer account
B: enable security auditing on your PC and check the logs regularly
C: download Ccleaner and Cleanup452. Run them regularly
D: download Malwarebytes and use it.
E: get a strong password for your router AND your WiFi. Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they ain't there.

i only run A and E...mp virus protection or any of that once a month i download AVG and do a scan completely clean every three months i download Norton anti virus and run a scan...completely clean. Avoiding a virus is as easy as looking at what you click on (READ URLS!)
