i have a 1994 2.3 ranger 2wd ..... and it is gutless i was wondering what i could do for some more power at a low cost ... ive read alot about cams ... i was wondering if a cam from a 2.5 liter would work and give a little more power

thanks
michael

Are you sure your 2.3 is running right? I wouldn't describe mine as a powerhouse, but it's far from gutless. It handles interstate duties and light towing just fine, and nets me 21-27mpg consistently.

Yeah, I'd look at the basics before trying to stroke the engine...you can add 2.5 parts to a 2.3 because they are the same block...but it's far more expensive than a good tune-up and making sure your brakes are not locking up like mine did...
