Gun rack in 2020 supercrew

It won’t do much hauling except for gear. Search and Rescue in the bed and maybe the utility trailer or camping gear in the trailer with food in the bed of the truck. It’s amazing what raccoons can break into.

Ooh 43 cuft of cargo space in your 1/2 a truck bed, careful there it might be enough space to haul your purse. The specs aren't anything to get too happy about, its actually larger than an F150 by about a foot oddly enough...but the lack of storage space in a truck that's the size of an F150 is a joke....I guess Ford just decided to use the cab sizes of Toyota pickups from the 80's.

Hmm... I don't own a purse? You must be thinking of your own... in which case we now know why you are called "Wild" Bill.:taunt:

A Ranger is not larger than an F-150 by a foot, unless your talking about Walker, Texas Ranger?

If you care to see some factual data ... here it is: Compare 2020 Ford F-150 vs 2020 Ford Ranger

That is comparing 2wd to 2wd. A 4wd F-150 is taller while a 4wd Ranger is about the same height as a 2wd... so keep that in mind too.

And as it comes up it is comparing a F-150 SCrew to a Ranger SCab.

This is a cover I'm seriously considering. Anyone have any experience with one of these?

Zero experience...

That looks pretty slick actually. They sure don't give them away though...

Might just need a different center console.

Do like that console!
But don't think it'll fit well with the shifter.
Lol

Seems that all of the lockable covers are quite pricey.

I think the execution of the cover is better than some of the roll up one’s I’ve seen. At least it doesn’t intrude on bed space when rolled up. The price seems to be on par with the type. All that being said, I’ve never owned or seen one in person.

What I really like about this particular cover is that when you close the back end it locks the entire length of the cover on both sides. A different brand has basically the same cover but only latches in 3 spots on either side.
Reviews say that you can actually pry up and get your arm in it unlock it. Not cool

This is what I've decided to get. This and bed carpet and all with be great.
A little pricey but much more sexy than the other options.

Hi, I just got an 08 Ranger that was handed down to me by my brother in law. The first thing I want to install is a truck gun rack. I just got my CCW and been checking the internet what's available. There's this buyer's guide CarPartsHome that I read for truck gun racks and I saw one that can be installed overhead. Has anyone installed one? Or what would you recommend between the overhead from behind seat?

I have an over head in my 2011. It haven’t gotten around to putting one in the 2019 yet. Head room is better in the 2019. So it should work pretty well. You’ll just have to figure out the hard points on the roof for the install if you go with the Big Sky like I did.

I have no opinion on the behind the seat options. I keep too much stuff in the back of the 2011 for one to be a workable solution for me.

You didn’t ask but with how small the back window is on the 2019+ Rangers, I can’t see how a window rack would fit, let alone work.

On the ceiling rack. It works well and doesn’t rattle. Retention is secure too. I wouldn’t hesitate to get another one. I did have to do some cutting of the plastic trim for the head liner for it to fit and look professionally installed. There was also some drilling so I could install the self-tapping sheet metal screws.

There should be some sort of extra metal around the rim of the roof for reinforcement and for items mounted on the ceiling to attach to. That is what I mounted the rack to.

I like to keep my gun rack on my gun rack.

Thanks, I think that is how I would like it to be installed too. Great info. HNY!
