ok another header thread here...
I have a 98 Explorer 5.0 motor with GT40p heads in my 2WD 96 ranger.
I tried the Headman swap headers and they will bolt up and clear the frame but the plugs on the drivers side run directly into the tubes.
No shorty plug or dent in the tube will solve it either.

Q's
1) Are these GT40p heads different in plug design than regular HO heads?
2) anyone made tri y headers or anything else work on the Explorer motor?

I simply cant afford the Torque Monster headers right now and looking for an option to the stock manifolds.

thanks for any help.

ahh yes, good old Google.
thanks Chris dont know why i did not think of it.

and to think I was about to put the stock crappy manifolds back on.

No problem, yeah google and the search feature are deffinately your friend if you use them.
From my glancing over those pages it looks like the cheapest option would be the MAC longtubes, and if i remember correctly, i believe i saw over on v8ranger where a guy was running them in a ranger. So yes the headers are out there, just do some research about fittment in a ranger. Be sure to keep everyone posted, questions about these heads and headers pop up constantly

yeah i think ill try the MAC's.
my next hurdle might be the VSS, Im running a C4.

thanks, another good option.

I like to do long tubes for the torque but it will be an off road truck so shortys might be best.
ill make sure and post what I end up with.
