Gt-12

Here's an idea for getting the car out of the basement. The window is 20" high so remove the window and then jack up the house about a foot and use a ramp to just drive it out. Wait till the boss is out for the day though.
The shifter looks great and mounting on the trans is a great idea. Did you give any thoughts to putting a lockout on reverse to prevent accidently going from drive to reverse?

it doesn't have a lockout, but the way the gates are arranged it's really easy to spot the gear positions.i've been playing with the shifter not hooked to the cable just to get a feel for how it moves through the gates and it's everything i'd hoped for.

gotta love it when a plan comes together.

the shifter is mounted to an aluminum bracket that's bolted to the transmission,it feels good and solid.

also, note the proximity of the shifter,e brake, and steering wheel.the right hand won't have to migrate very far for some silly antics.

Also the 'command center' looks good already:icon_thumby:

George Peppard, The original A-Team's Col. John "Hannibal" Smith.

That's true, saying is the same though. On an unrelated to the GT-12 note I thought Liam Neeson did alright as Hannibal, real good homage to the original.

This is the Col. Hannibal Smith that GWAII would know:

I'd have to agree with you there, but when I hear The A-Team or any of the names it is the original crew that comes to mind.

I enjoyed the movie, but it wasn't The A-team. Liam's performance of Hannibal was best, but the other three did decent job of their characters as well given the film. Other than that the only other real homage was crushed buy a roof top AC unit. It kinda made me wander if the director ever watched the original shows. Aside from the throw backs to the original characters the only saving grace to me was Jessica Beil who neither got enough screen time nor showed enough skin. I think the movie would have been better named The B-Team with a little less homage, and a little more cleavag... err... I mean comedy, or something.

never saw the new one....but with the original i always thought it was funny that no matter how bad a crash happenned, even when a helicopter got hit by an rpg then slammed into a cliff face.....everyone ran away without a scratch.and not just the main characters, everyone.

i wish i had a garage:sad:
Ok so let me get this straight you have four wheel steer ranger, topless explorer, custom built F-series, you build custom boats, and your building a V12 powered rocketship in the basement but you havn't built yourself a garage.:icon_confused:

i was originally going to be mounting the shifter to the tunnel, but i've since decided to mount it directly to the transmission.that little bit of vibration going through the shifter will give it that four-speed feel.

I like that!!:icon_thumby:

Looking Great Gwaii, I was about to say that it would take much right hand movement to do anything you want, but you got that covered already :icon_thumby:

not quite... He has a topless 4 wheel steer shortened explorer, a topless BII with a 460 amidships and skid steering for wheel stands, a ranger with 3 transmissions and a 460 amidships, and a V12 powered rocketship :icon_thumby:

all built in a tarp shed and a basement with a 2.9 powered air compressor and some hand tools. :D

once i get my finances in such a state that i can buy instead of renting,i'll build a kick ass shop.till then,a tarp shed will have to do:dunno:
