Gt-12

where can i get that urethane foam? How do i shape the foam?

there's two key types of urethane foam....insulation boards, which are the yellow foam boards with a black paper coating on each side,or the stuff in spray cans, such as mono foam.shaping is easilly done with sandpaper and hacksaw blades.this is the way i made the forms for the headlight covers.

in the meantime, got the gelcoat on the mold.

i went with red so scratches in the paint won't be as visible.

and two layers of 2oz matt for the layup.

it should be good to pull up by this evening.

that's it under the tank.i've got a gas tank from a '99 cougar on the compressor, and a 25 gallon reciever tank on top of that.outside is the main tank-a 1000 gallon propane tank.

well,not that....but it does have a chrome tip:D

for air-not fuel.

but i do get a lot of use time before i need to start the compressor again.:icon_thumby:

Air is what I meant. With that redneck limo of yours I'd say 1000 gallons of fuel lasts a week at best.

if i go easy on it:D

but ya,i wanted to keep from having to cycle the compressor too much,so i figured a big tank was the way to go.there's a propane place in town, they had an outdated tank that i bought for $100 delivered.it takes about 10 minutes to fill it,then can last for days-depending on what tools i'm using.

What, no direct drive?? What size compressor is that and what did it come off of??

no,i took the easy route.

i just put a pair of belts from the crank pulley, over the water pump, and over to the compressor.it's worked great for about 4 years like that now.

i'm not sure the origin of the compressor,it was mounted to a plate with a v4 wiconsin motor when i got it.the v4 died, and i had the 2.9 hanging around,so i put this together in an afternoon so i'd have air again.

i run the engine at 1800rpm,and it provides plenty of air.i can run the engine faster if i need more air,but that doesn't happen very often.
