Gt-12

The main reason I mention the guard is because most people who look at threads like this do not have years of experience in fabrication or proper instruction in the use of dangerous tools. You can buy angle grinders so cheaply now that anybody can afford one. The cheap ones are just as dangerous as the heavier ones, perhaps more so. Anyway, enough about dangerous tools, back to stuffing that quart into that pint pot.

absolutely!:icon_thumby:

my front suspension showed up today:

and you know what today is?it's the one monthaversary of this project:birthday:

your using the BMW's front suspension? The car looks to be in good shape

good point, i should not make light of the grinder situation, been stitched up a few times.

definitely right to bring these things up time to time.

as to inexperienced observers soaking things up...i do not follow safety protocols with eye protection nearly like i should, actually rarely where protection.

this has changed due to my small son the tool terror who studies every move savagely. my daughters dont come out nearly enough, but the boy is actually a pia.

so i have extra gear like welding helmets face shields etc just for them so they can watch.

but to me, if the inherent danger of a grinder does not present itself as patently obvious the instant that machine of death screams to life, you have other issues....probably live with a pack of wolves and hunt grizzly bears naked with a stick.

so...thanks martin..

Please tell me something is way wrong with the bimmer before it goes under the knife....
Flood victim?
Blown motor and trans?
Decomposed body in the back seat and you cant get rid of the smell...

bimmer's got it's issues.it was purchased from alberta and he never changed the registration over from the original owner before he spun it into a telephone pole and fled the scene as he was drunk.the car had no insurance and was not claimed(claiming it would result in many charges-legal and financial)so it sat in the impuond for two years with a broken back window.

the body damage would be repairable, but the water damage to the interior would cost more than the value of the car to repair.
it runs perfect, after sitting for two years we put the cables on it and i fired it up and drove it out....but now it's just parts.

anyone want to buy a bmw 328i motor?

Put it in the 4wd mini camper van:icon_rofl:

Looking good and putting the rest of us to shame gwaii:D

:D

actually,i'm kinda fond of the turbo diesel in the van.....and i've got to turn as much of the bimmer into cash as i can.

ebay,here i come!

Ok I feel better now after seeing that...lol.
I had an 89 325I Vert that was the best and most fun car I have ever owned.

i composed the front shot to make it look as good as possible, just to see if i would get a reaction.:D

i wanted to get the back shot up sooner, but the internet went down here till after 5pm(pacific).they are upgradeing the lines, but the intermittent outages are frustrating.

gwaii, I've got gears to set up for my BII... thanks. :annoyed:

However... just a month?? Geez, must be nice. Good to hear you're getting rollin' on this thing after three years of anticipation! Need to get some A/C routed to just floor vents. :icon_twisted:

setting up gears can be fun....just accept from the start that it'll be an all day job,and challenge yourself to get the pattern as good as you can:icon_thumby:.that way it's more of a game than a job.

the a/c to the floors is a good idea......if there were room for a/c on this thing:D

2/70 ac... except 2 vents at 70 mph... :D
