I've had mine about the same length of time and I remember it cost me around sixty bucks. It has paid for itself many times over, in fact it paid for itself the first time I used it. good investment.

i could be wrong about what i paid(it was a while ago)or i may have got a great deal.....but it's been used to make many hundreds of flares since i got it.

like you said....good investment.

and look!this thread has reached 100 pages!

(about 40 pages of which are pertinent to the build:D)

Wow! a hundred pages, If it goes to three hundred you could publish it as a book. It would look good on someones coffee table.

It's probably gonna be another 200 pages before I have time to work on it.

Hopefully my demotion goes through at the end of the month and I can take a Saturday off or something. With my luck they're gonna come up with another excuse to keep me on the route.

i swear i check this build every day and theres always about 30 min worth of reading to catch up on (ok maybe im a slow reader?), keep up the good work and the fine BSing!

I think it will make 200.............the Doc is way to good at splainin how you do stuff!
The how to on the headers told me why every time I tried to build mine, my scrap pile got bigger!
Thanks for taking the time to break everthing down like you do.

A good cheap double flaring tool is OTC brand. I bought a set brand new on ebay for around $15 shipped. I have replaced brake lines from the master cyl back on at least 10 different vehicles and it still works perfect.

my pleasure:icon_cheers:

the way i always look at it is that there's no such thing as a big job....just a whole bunch of little jobs that when put together make up the whole finished product.

doing some CARpentry now....

get it-CAR...pen.....because it's a car ah,hell...nevermind.

this is the form for the rear tubs starting to take shape.where the plywood is doubled up i have to round off the corner.this is where the face and the wrap will meet.
i'll get it all glued up tonight, then start sanding and grinding tomorrow.might even get some aluminum cut.

here's where it'll fit in.maybe i should just make'em out of wood...it'd be a lot cheaper.
