Today me and one of my buddies were leaving school and heading to the store. We go about 4 miles and we heard a clank or knock. It was weird. I brushed it off like it was nothing.

get to the store and are ready to leave drive a half mile and the whole truck swings to the right and making some grinding. The fucking tire was like fetching up.

I stop get out and my fucking tire is just about falling off. The whole assembly is sliding of the spindle. Bearings or what was left was laying on the ground. Some guy did my bearings a month ago. (Paying him a visit)

Got it towed, got some bearings, and put it back together, Spindle took some work to get new bearings on. Maybe i should invest in a new one soon.

Anyway my day sucked, thanks for letting me vent.

Sucks to hear, but thats why I always do all the work on my truck. If somthing happens I'm the only one to blame, that and I enjoy working on it lol.

I usually do but I had it there for something i couldnt do and just had him do it while it was there. Never again

Ya this happened to a friend of mines truck while we were drive back to MI from his house on the eastern part of PA and we were about 4 hours or so into the trip and his bearings went on of the freeway, we ended up limping it to an exit and to a parking like near an auto parts store and when we parked the wheel feel right off... that was a fun weekend...

LMAO, sorry, its not funny, it happened to me about a week ago. I had to fix mine up in the woods in about a foot of snow to get home.

Was there severe scoring on the spindle?

If so, you might want to invest in a new one (go to a junkyard, they are a dime a dozen) otherwise your bearings aren't going to be very happy with you.

I also suggest a new spindle if it is marred or scored.

I had that happen to me in my old '89 geo on the way to school in high school, took a right hand turn and the left rear tire/wheel came completely off! Bought some new bearings and put her on on! The next week, the right side came off, when I turned left, hey, the car had a lot of miles, lol.
