Grizzly in Ranger?

I usually try to avoid loading on the tailgate. I've done it several times without a problem, but I have seen both cables snap while a friend loaded a lawn mower. Mower would have fallen on him if there wouldn't have been two of us standing right there. Left a nice straight custom body line across the tailgate...

If you are loading on the tailgate, be prepared for it to fail. And always check the cables. As soon as the coating starts to wear through or crack on the cable, replace it. That'll lower the odds of having an accident as well.

Another thing im sure everyone knows but put something in front to. When me and my buddy go ride he has to shoot up his ramp pretty quick on his KFX400 to get over the wheel wells and if you do that wit a big ash grizzly you might just shoot right into the cab. He puts a peice of 2x4 post up there bolted across up high for that reason. No one wants to pinch their bed into the cab. So put a good piece of wood up there or something.

Won't be an issure with a grizzly, put it in low, 4x4 with the front diff locked and it will literally crawl up the ramp, and over the wheel wells with out even sweating...

the tailgate shouldn't have a problem holding the weight, i was loading my 07 YFZ450 into my 99 when the ramps shot out from under my back tires and the quad (and me) came crashing down on to the gate. all that happened was the skid plate under the engine put a little dent in the gate. but otherwise, no bending, no snapped cables, so i would say the grizzly will be fine resting on the gate a little bit...just make sure its nice and tight when you strap it down

Thank you sir, you are a scholar and a gentleman.

Three dealers locally. Two Ford, One Mazda, let the games begin.

The Mazda dealer won. A 08 B4000 SE + fully loaded, with same accessories, extended warranty for a few bucks more then a stripped bare Ranger Sport SC.

I pick it up on Monday.

Always, always, always strap ramps when loading an ATV.

My father is the worst, most stubborn for this. Doesn't even use ramps. Same two pieces of 2x10 that he used with an '86 S-10 non 4x4 he uses now with his 4x4 Colorado. It is only a matter of time till he brains himself doing this.
