grinding problem

Last year I had to change the auto hubs in my 88. I just put on mile markers because i didn't have much money. When in put it in 4wd it seems to grind. I know the hubs are still good. We put them on a buddy's and worked fine. So im starting to think the gears are f***ed up. But it only started grinding after the swap. I havent used 4wd much and not hard. What do you think.

you change out the spindle nuts as well????

auto hubs and manual hubs require different spindle nuts....

It has a solid axle, right? Did you check the axle u-joints?

obviously i changed the spindle nut. I don't think they will fit otherwise.

And no its a dana 28 with new u joints
