I painted the grille of the 03 black, a little shinier than I wanted but it will have to work.
here are a couple of pics.
This is where it all started. washed out grey.

This shows the inner shell shroud; it was oxidized and needed to be really cleaned.

This is the grille after paint. A little shaky, the flash didn't work for some reason; I will get another tomorrow.

Wider view of the finished grille, another shaky one.

There are 6 mtg tabs on the lower lip of the grille shell, they do pull out but watch it, you can pull too far and damage the shell.
I cracked the shell, easy fix with fiberglass but something that may have been avoided.
Also, when and if removing the grille from the shell be careful here too.
I was very careful after cracking the shell but two of the grille mounting tabs broke off.
You can see in the pic there is a repair along side of the grille too.

On a bright red Ranger the black looks great, glad I did it evenif I had to repair the shell.
While it was apart I did the Side Marker/Turn Signal Mod in another thread here on the site.
That worked out great, looks the balls.
I added 194 LED Lamps at the same time, they look OK - no pics.
