Graffiti on the Pavement!

Can somone tell me WTF is going on? Seems like there is alot LESS Graffiti "art" being painted on road pavement, Bridge rails, and oilfield tank batteries.

It's like a new era, I sure do miss seeing art on tanks on oil leases, and roadways. There seems to be somthing special spray painting "Billy luves Jame forever" on the county bridge! We used to have a "drag strip start line" painted on one road, and a "finish line" down a ways.

What is going on? Are todays kids that big of couch potatoes that they can't seek out in moonlight and have a little fun?

Part of it is the destructive lil devils have turned to writing computer viruses and wasting time in front of the computer or tv.

Part of it is that they've come up with some new chemicals to make it so that graffiti washes off with nothing more than a pressure washer at the most.

And part of it is police have cracked down so hard people don't want to risk getting caught doing that stuff.

I don't mind graffiti as long as it's pleasant to look at.


Random sprays with a paint can don't count. Obscenities neither.

Having said that, I'm sure most of you think that some of the graffiti-ists out there could easily get a degree for imaginative art or something similar.

Some of the stuff is really good...there was a post here a while ago about this and some of the stuff was amazing...

But I think with the crackdown and the skyrocketing cost of paint cans...and the opportunity to paint the inside of the county jail have been deterents...

the thread was mine....

and that was a yearly event at my moms work, its encouraged to paint there, so no-one gets arrested, its a shame, cuz around my area, there is some good work , theres a "crew" called viscious styles that bought a building to paint, and made a huge mural on the side with "hello my name is" things

there is going to be an article in weird new jersey pretty soon, idk when tho

kids dont want to involve themselves in that sort of commitment they'd rather just go to marriage. Spray paint on a bridge lasts forever where as a marriage can be undone by a few choice words and signing a piece of paper.
