This will be one more reason for businesses to relocate overseas. You think google or youtube are going to let themselves be removed from the internet? They'll just move the servers to Mexico or canada and continue to make money.

Sent from the road while ignoring traffic

Just so you know that is who this is aimed at because they can't take them to court in the first place. They would take it down for US customers via DNS. Therefore think China, or Korea and you get the picture...

glad to see Jim did something, even without taking TRS down for a day

I don't have a problem with people wanting to protect their IP, but I like my constitutional rights more than that, especially due process and protections against prior restraint of free speech.

The fact that legislation that can affect so many people is so obviously to protect the business interests of the few is sickening

Companies are on the wagon for these bills. because for instance monster cables have said used cables on craigslist under cut their bottom line. they shouldnt have any rights on end user stuff since it is sold to me legally. that is why Craigslist is involved.

You know in some ways we brought this on ourselves i can remember when my family got its first computer friends were passing around antivirus software instead of buy it themselves now because of that we now hafto subscribe.

And at one point I was running 7 computers with 1 product key on Windows XP. But they were all in my house and I was the only one using them (yes I had a legitimate use 7 computers running XP at once, no it was not anything illegal, I was doing some network work). How is that any different?

Has anyone seen the pirate loader for Windows 7? It lets you install a pirate copy of any version of 7 that you want and because of the way 7 authenticates the genuine advantage tool can't distinguish the cracked and genuine copies. How is that any different, except that it's harder to get caught.

i remember when some of the musicians tried to ban used cd stores. this was in the late 90s it is all about $$$$$$$$$$

It's all about the bottom line, ea now charges for their online experience even when you buy used games. I understand the licensing agreements, but this could potentially be used for I'll will. It wouldn't take much for a content company to find any infringing content on any site, kind like when a cop pulls you over for nothing and looks real hard to find something to bust you... Pretty $hitty if you ask me. Bad idea and horrible execution on everones part.

It would also affect Facebook and anyone with one, and any other social media site really. I'm sure at first it would start out as a "good" thing, then slowly the government would stick it's filthy fingers into all the sites and shut 'em down. I like the idea of protecting videos/music/movies etc but how it's written and lack of specifics scares me.

theres a lot of stuff people don't realize about this bill....

read it yourself. its scary how far it would let the government go. its not just about piracy like people downloading movies and music on btjunkie.org or something.

You guys!

How do you spell para-noid?
