Gotta love Youtube..

Ok, thats cool, but still....not to mention on a samuri clutch i think sushi woulda worked better.

Its kinda like this...

Cool? Yes, Useful? Not really

Nah, the hammering shouldnt hurt it. Really all your hammering into is the bread, your not hammering into anything important

That was pretty cool... but then again, I bet the bearing on a Suzuki 1.3 would pop out equally easy just by staring at it in a stern manner for a few minutes... lol

I wonder if he smells toast every time he power brakes?

clearly it works I don't know if the hammering is enough to damage forward thrust on a crankshaft though I know that's something you don't want to do on a boat engine or transmission

I'm with Rusty. The bread is absorbing all the impact. If it wasn't this wouldn't work, because the bread moving around, being displaced by the bolt, is what drives the bearing out. Plus it's not like he is going nuts there.

The force applied by holding the clutch pedal down probably puts more stress on the thrust bearing than anything that happened in this video.

Now we know what happened with the second Wawa sizzli lol

I saw someone do it with thick grease.

Cool vid.
I've been removing pilot bearings and bushings since I was 15 using the same method, but with grease instead of bread. Simple hydraulics, fluid doesn't compress but you need something thick enough to not squeeze by the bolt.
I'm going to have to start a youtube channel with tricks I've learnt over the years but use uncommon material so I can get the clickbait titles.

I used bread. It took 3 slices. Less mess than grease:D

Damn, I've been using it wrong. I was using it with PB&J for energy to drive the hammer.

One night in a drunken stupor i tried to melt a V belt back togther with a cigarette lighter.

Didnt work.

Almost as bad, but it did work temporarily, I wrapped a piece of nylon Backpackers rope around the pulleys of my 4-cylinder Fiero when the belt flew away, the knot did not did not catch anything which surprised me, but it only had to stay on for a few minutes till we got to a station.
