Not really. Haha, but the seats thing was a cool idea, just not as safe as people would like to make it.

If i was going to do it, i would install racing seats with 5 point harnesses along with a heavy duty roll bar.
And maybe some duct tape. :D

I would agree that it could be made safe with something like that, much like the rear seats in a sand rail. However, once that rig hits pavement a whole new set of rules apply that no amount of calculating and welding will satisfy. Either Johnny Law is going to own you, or some lawyer will eat you up if there's an accident.

THAT'S IT!!!!! He just needs to add some duct tape and everybody would be happy.
As soon as you get that truck inspected by the local state police, come pick me up, I'll ride anywhere you want to go in those seats.

the seats he made almost look safer! at least more comfortable. those look like someone had a couple extra of those elementary school desks with the attached chair, cut the desk off with a hack saw, then welded the seats in the back of their "ute". :stirthepot:

Those seats came STOCK in that. That's why everyone keeps mentioning the Brat. They came stock with seats in the bed.

Rear supercab seats also have a shoulder belt IIRC. This is what would make the biggest difference in a collision when you’re sitting in a real engineered seat. A lap belt is only marginally better than having no seat belt at all.

my 92 is lap belts. sideways facing jump seats too.

hey wait---those pics made me think. now this is something i am new at (thinking), so give me some slack....

someone saws the roof off their b2, and everyons falls over themselves to tell said idiot that their topless b2 is the shit.....wouldn't that be ALMOST the same thing as what twitch did in the bed?? b2's have a higher rollover rate, and with no roof to protect them, same as ridin in the bed of a ranger????

Great call! Looks like you got a clean rig at a great price. Now, take the top off and if you want to get more friends to go then hitch up a utility trailer and throw some hay bales in it. Tell the 5-0 you're giving hayrides.

ya i was thinkin a mattress then some rachet straps through the windows of the doors then just strap it over one or two people chest on top of the mattres lol

ya i did like the whole idea of the seats in bed but i have been wanting a 4x4 so bad and i like that bronco II and it has 60 thousand all together but it also had a fuel injected 88 2.9 dropped in it wich i absoulity love compared to my old 2.3 liter it was gutless now i have some guts in my rig

I'll say it again, I haven't posted pics of my '84s cab (24 year old Ford in the heart of the rust belt with 260K on the clock, it had been off the road for 3 years in the junkyard before I pulled it out 4 years ago. I'll leave the rest to your imagination).

You make a good point about topless BII's

Bronco II rollovers..........

Actually, it was the 2wd versions that were prone to roll over.

Weird how Ford was getting nailed with suits over the B2's rolling over and dropped it for a longer wheelbase Explorer and now these little roll over deathtraps have become hot little offroad vehicles.

I knew that I had seen your Ranger before when I checked this thread. I saw it on Craigslist not too long ago. I thought I was just going crazy.
