I don't agree that chopped Bronco IIs are so great.

It means the frame and body flex FAR more without the roof than they would have with it installed. While they presumably aren't quite as easy to roll over, there would be a HUGE problem if they did. They also look silly. A FAR better solution is an early Bronco.

And just because Supercab jumpseats suck and Brats came with stupidity in the back doesn't change any of this. There were East German pieces of $#%^ sold rigt up until 1990. That doesn't mean an air cooled two stroke is an appropriate powerplant for anything bigger than a lawnmower.

The new Bronco II looks quite nice, and they ARE capable offroad vehicles. Gotta love that 94 inch wheelbase. I miss mine....

Well back when Brats were being sold, the statement of a seatbelt was "A What?". Kids jumping over the seats, laying on the part above the rear seat at the back window.........just goes on and on, no seat belts were enforced back then and never used, so the car manufacter could get away with it. We even had real cheap gasoline...it was called Regular. Oil from oil cans that you had to buy the metal spout to use or else it was can opener time and hope that you did not pour oil everywhere.

Well, I'm glad the truck is sold and hopefully if someone buys it they don't try the same thing...not that it isn't a neat idea or anything...

I must admit that I did some hack job on my first ranger...cut out the back wall of the regular cab and tried to extend the driver compartment a bit so I could fit inside it...I"m 6'6" tall and regular cab/bench seat was just too tight...got pulled over by a local cop who walked around the truck and then back to my door and said "your truck looks a little, I don't know, BEAT UP"...I was kinda pissed at that but bit my tongue (as I was about to say "so is the last person who said that...lol)...

Anyway, it turned out that the firewall and door posts were rotted out and it finally bit the dust...so I did what I should have done...bought an extended cab...I was just about to try to fit the extended cab onto the regular cab frame when common sense grabbed me by the balls, shook me around a bit and tossed me across the front lawn...

I decided to just leave the xtnded cab on the extended frame and leave the engineering to someone else...although I've never stopped dreaming about modding a vehicle...

My 2¢ worth...

i saw that b2 on craigslist the other day. wierd

Well Twitch,

Congratulations. You've managed to create (so far) a 7 page topic on your bed seat.

I dig but its one of those deals...I'd watch but wouldnt ride in it. It be cool around the backroads and doing some light wheeling but the highway hell no. I wouldnt want the responsibility of be the driver

only a matter of time before this thread gets the lock down, personally I can't wait for it to happen as the poor O.P. has had his thread jacked, and that isn't fair to him.

The thread was dead, he sold the truck with the seats and bought a BII
I was with the thread since the beginning and watched it get locked once, twice might be a TRS record :D

This is no longer useful to anyone.
