I had the ol' WD-45 out to move some stuff around during a warm snap and thought I would take some pictures. It is still all scummy from sitting all winter in a dirt floor shed, but still looked pretty decent for the camara.
A little panaramic action:
The infamous "Snap-Coupler" hitch, A-C's way of getting around Ferguson's 3-point patent... and some would argue it is a superior design. They had a clever draft control system that let this little smaller than a Farmall H sized tractor run circles around a Farmall M. The clevis' are there so I have a way to strap it on a trailer when I have the plow on it.
I made this one look antiquish, looks straight out of the 50's when my great grandfather brought it home.
A close to original steering wheel knob, dunno if it has been on since day one but it has to be close. New wooden ones are lucky to last a couple years. I am not really sure what to do with this one, I hate to have it fall apart on the tractor but it really looses its value if it isn't on there I think. A fairly good closeup if I do say so myself.
Kind of neat, I was playing with the settings trying to get it to come out good in the sun and stumbled apoun whatever setting the old color camaras operated at. A lot of the outdoor photos from the 60's/70's you see are bleached out like this:
As you can tell it is just a working tractor with a rattle can paint job and a set of decals, I would like to do a full blown restoration on it but funds and time are lacking for all of my projects at once. It runs like a top and is halfway presentable, so on the backburner it sits.
