Got some more problems....

Okey on my 97 I am haveing to pull the frount diff due to a twisted axle. So I end up havein to take the driver side raidus arm lose to even have room to pull he diff(drop bracket in the way) So I get all that lose and to see that my raidus arm is over the 18MM bolt on the side of the diff. can't get it lose with a wrench eather so Im goin to have to use a impack to loseing it but the arm is in the way of gettin a socket on the bolt. So I ryed to ake the arm lose from the beam and cant get it lose, impack would't and a 5ft braker bar would't eather. So I was thinkin could I notch the arm a bit? I will get a pic of it tomarro...

When I work on the front differential I take out the whole left side as a unit.Another trick to pull out the radius arm is to put a ratcheting strap on the spindle and the bumper and pull it forward.If you want to take the radius arm off heat the area where the bolt goes in locktite is keeping you from breaking them loose.

thanks. I got this thing apart to day. ended up havein to knotch the raidus are jus a tad for the 18mm bolt on the diff to come out..

Notching the arm can create a stress riser there. Better would've been to grind the bolt head so it "D" shaped, which should then allow you to wiggle it out past the arm (when reinstalling the bolt, put it in from below, there's a bit more room on that side to get the head past the arm).

yeah it may cause some stress but a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do. But I really aint worried im all ready gatering a few parts for a sas...allso may jus make some long arms to last till winter. and bolt is goin in from under side.
