No pictures yet, cuz I've only had it home for about 3 hours. But I'm sure most of you know what a stock 2008 XL 2.3L looks like. :)

First things: get a bed liner, replace stock radio/speakers with something even half decent.

One thing I must say, though. Buying a new vehicle was not a particularly pleasant experience. Shopping around and dealing with dealers was a real ordeal and I after the initial friendliness from most salespeople, they quickly turn into Ford drones that only pretend to negotiate a price with you. I know I didn't get a great deal, but I'm happy with 0% financing. What I didn't know, though, is that the financing is conditionally upon mandatory collision and comprehensive insurance (+$500/year). I probably would have got that insurance anyway, but it's still a bit a shocker - I didn't expect it to be paying 1K/year for insurance. It could be worse - I could be living in Alberta. *wince*

Anyhoo... I'm also a bit depressed right now because I hurt my rib 8 days ago and it doesn't feel any better - it might be fractured - and its REALLY hurts to shift... so I can't drive much right now. :/ Oh, and I'm all paranoid about it getting scratched. haha. I'm such a n00b.

Anyhoo... I'll post more thoughts when I can seriously play with my new toy and get excited. :)

Back in 05 I bought basically the same truck (XLT) brand new. It was a good little truck. Suprisingly good power and good fuel mileage, very fun to drive. I sold it because I needed more truck. Would own another one if I had the need for it. I bought mine during the "Ford Family Pricing" thing. It was great. No haggling, no BS. Told the dealer what truck I wanted and they got it. Truck was $13,376 out the door with eveything, hell of a deal for a brand new pickup.

I can now see you sitting in the bed of the parking lot at the super market while your friends do all of the shopping and you screamin at people to not scratch your truck.

In other News! Congrats On the New Truck!!!

Actually, thats what I did back in high school. While eating a Pizza or Subway sandwich.

But it still happended, and now my truck has a smashed paint job by the tailgate on the top left corner. Somebody told me it was skate boarders.

I hate buying/selling vehicles, the whole negotiating process just gets old.

I kinda wish you could just go to a store and pick out want you want, cut a check and leave rather than go to a bunch of dealers, and try to get one to outprice the others.

Even with my '85 I park out in the boonies in a parking lot. Not only does it keep runaway carts and door dinkers away, it gives me more time to look at my truck.

I'm the type of person that doesn't like to put my signature on anything, so having to sign all sorts of forms, many of which I a bit ambiguous and/or often have some sort of "you give permission for ... to contact you with ... promotions, etc." at the bottom really makes me weary of signing.

So, the Ford Family Pricing is not just a gimmick?

Congrats on the purchase! I am sure you will enjoy it.

I park my junk as close to the store as I can. I try my hardest to park next to someone's Caddy, BMW, etc. I love the looks I get - first it's disgust, like "who would drive that piece of shit?" Then it turns to "Oh GOD, he's parking NEXT to me!" And finally "Oh please, don't door it!" :D
