My credo
A legend to the old man, a hero to the child...
....and damn does it run good.

Super quiet, super smooth (besides some random missfires from junk plugs and no O2 signal...next on the list)

Got the FPR on and it ran better...but not great. Checked fuel pressure it was perfect, with no bleed down.

Sat there listening to it idle it really sounded out of time...like...retarded bad. I pulled the SPOUT and killed it dead. I investigated further and seen the dist was loose, and the bolt/clamp gone. So i twisted it a good 1/8-1/4 turn advance and it fired up on the 2nd spin of the starter and ran smooth as silk.

I have no idea how this thing ran at all when i got it...blown FPR...way out of time, ungrounded ECM....chalk it up to 2.9 will to live.

Took it for a little spin on the dirt road...ran it up to 50mph....no pulling, no drama, shifts great (manual)....i think its got a new clutch by the way it feels. Brakes are there...but soft. Speedo works, all gauges, etc.

Tried the 4wd...all seems to be in order there. No t case noise. Athough i did hear a single click from the front hub when going foward to reverse and back....its been a while since i had lockouts....normal?

Steering feels good and tight...pump is a bit noiser then normal...but meh it assists fine.

Hell i even tried some wax on the paint...

Bet it would shine up decent with some actual effort.

Either way....im happy with it...and for 1000 bucks, couple hundred in parts and odds n ends...not a bad B2

Looks like its coming together

:ban:

I'm glad to hear that things are going better on it.

Now . . . set the wax down, and slowly back away from the truck!
Its still ugly...but itll be shiny ugly :ROFLMAO:

Here's some 'rusty' trivia for you:

TRS was started in 1999 and the forum was first created in 2000. @rusty ol ranger was a Forum Moderator here from 2002-2005 and I don't believe he's ever been to a TRS gathering.

I havent been :(

If it still has auto hubs you will hear a click as they rely on a slight rotation of the axle shafts to engage. Glad you got it running good!

I'd love to make a TRS gathering, heck back in the day I was a moderator for a bit too... I wanted to go to one of the trips in Ohio but never made it then life got dumb and now I'm an adult with too many things on the list... one of these days...

No they are manual hubs. When your moving they are silent...but if you stop and change direction you just head one click. Right as the wheel starts to turn. I couldnt tell if the passenger side was doing it...but the drivers side was, and thats the side with a new hub lol.

But thats small frys for now. Next real big thing to do is actually put a timing light on it snd get it dialed in correctly, and get it on the trailer so i can take it over to our mechanics place to get that sill fixed.
