Comming home from Christmas eve I nailed this :

A Barred Owl...Merry Christmas too me! Right after I got rear ended last night by a Lexus...talk about some luck.
Anyway, I found some grilles for pretty cheap online...$50 range

How hard is it to change out. All I see is the bolts up top, and 2 clips on the bottom. Are the clips hard to remove? Haven't had time to touch it quite yet.

It should really easy to replace the grill piece. Just a couple of screws and maybe a clip or two. You could get it done in 30~60 minutes.

Thanks all! The owl was standing on the center line so I eased to the right to avoid it, and right at the last second it started to fly up and I nailed it! I believe i was doing about 55 or so....

Was up visiting my uncle in Iowa, and traveling 65 hit an owl in the same way with his truck. Tried to fly up, and SMACK. Would have been ok if it had stayed put.

yeah bro it could've been worse ... a few years after i got my 98 ranger new i was going on a back road and out popped two deer, they seperated just enough i thought i could swerve alittle and split between them but over the hill came an oncoming old K5 blazer so they got alittle closer together. I missed the one on the right but the one on the left took out my head light and then went under the blazer that was passing at almost the same time and got dragged under it alittle bit. I got the only damage ... well the deer didn't fair too well. If only that blazer hadn't been coming i'd been fine with no damage... got love the unpredictable wildlife.

Looks to me like a perfect time to upgrade the grille.....to a 04-05 edge model grille....or even an 06+ H-bar grille.
