Its on top of the tank. I got under the truck and had son start it up and there she blows. Spraying all over the place. Notice a gas smell last week but didn't drive it until today and noticed i had gas smell in the cab on the way to work this morning. Well started home and had strong smell of gas and noticed my gas gage dropping fast. Got home and had gas dripping from the tank area. I found a pic off the net that has the like that i seen leaking but can't find one online to order. Any help finding this? this is on a 96 Ranger 4.0 regular cab

Thanks

I think that is a return line not sure how much pressure it carries you might just be able to cut it and resplice it with a brass connector. Maybe hit the local U pull it yard for one? Possibly already some beds off so its easy to get to.

They sell rubber fuel lines just about everywhere. Like 3 bucks a foot. If it were me I would just replace the line and be done with it. Should only be like 6 or so feet at most to the high pressure pump.

If its the pressure side you need to use fuel line for fuel injection it has a different cord and inner design than just the stuff for standard fuel system, napa sells it and you will also have to double clamp it before the hump on the tank oulet pipe, and at the other end, check on line at some of the ford dealerships like silver state and a few others that may have discontinued stock on hand

How much pressure is on the return line. I'm pretty sure it's the plastic pressure line but will change both while I'm there

NAPA sells a repair kit for this which includes the Ford quick connect . You heat each line and push it onto the supplied brass tube and let them cool. They are not coming off after they cool. Be sure to bring the end of the old line with fitting since there are a few different choices.

Thats what I did, attached 2 stainless hose clamps to the hose and used red loctite on the threads on the clamp. No problem in 3 years. While you are there paint the steel pump connectors with grease or spray on bed liner as I have seen them rust causing leaks.Good Luck

Replace the full length of the rubber fuel line. The whole line is probably on the way out and will more than likely go bad in the near future.

Whats the trick to getting the fuel disconnects off? Special tool
?

could also put some stop leak in the tank...LOL!!!!:icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

Now that i got everything back together, I used Fuel injection 1/4" hose and reused the old QD's. i just cut off the old tubing and it had the end fitting already. So I got everything back together and i have one fitting leaking at the tank. Its the o-ring inside the QD. Can I just change the o-ring or should i just change the QD?

Well found a pack of fuel o-rings and changed the o-ring out and everything is OK now. Just put the bed back on. Starting to become an expert on taking the bed off.

You can change the O ring. Most parts stores stock them
