And this one is road legal :headbang: soon....

Its a 1995 Ford Taurus, so its ugly as quack :annoyed:, but it runs, and drives great aparently. its a government owned vehicle until it was auctioned to my father for roughly $600. We are driving down in about a week to pick it up.

130k miles.... maybe 25k more till it dies?

Anybody know anything about these things? Im rusty on these things prior to 2002.

All I know is that they ugly. :thefinger:

If you take care of it, probably another 75K from it if it is a 3.0 2 valve.

thoroughly go through the transmission, new fluid, new filter, maybe a trans cooler since the one from the factory is just a tube with a loop and NO jack rabbit starts. the rear springs like to break and a bit of a bitch to change. ax4n trans is the one you want (x on the door code for trans)

ax4n in a 95?

I had a 95 3.8L ....... I don't recall the transmission being as good as the ax4n in my Continental

I could've sold you a 97 SHO.... 3.4 v8.

i'm thinking that you go general lee on it's ass. weld the doors shut, paint it orange, 01 on the sides....everything

fun facts about the general lee:

-anywhere for 256 to 321 were throughout the course of the show.
-on average, they destroyed 1 per episode
-only 17 still remain :(

I don't think the 95 Taurus looks too bad. Definitely better than the bubbly 96+ models.

that's harsh, I'm trying to sell a bubbly 97 over here :icon_rofl::thefinger::D

I give it a week before it's got stacks, a v plow bolted on with 8" x 5/16 hex screws, and lug extensions out to 44" boggers. And don't forget the chop top.

thats mean! :annoyed: I hate chop tops.....

thanks for the good ideas though :icon_thumby:

Im thinking of cutting the trunk off and putting on a flatbed and installing truck struts on the rear end for extra support.

Doesn't sound bad at all. If it was taken care of, it should last you a while.

+1 on servicing the transmission. Probably 2/3 of the ones in the junkyards are there because of bad transmissions.

yeah, the first year for the AX4N was 1994 and only the 3.0's got it. The 3.8's only tranny was the AXOD-E. In 1996 the AXOD-E was renamed AX4S.
