The Explorer finally got some real tires...no more 235 series all seasons. I think the all seasons were about to self destruct too. The Explorer had been making a loud rumbling noise on the highway that I assumed to be wheel bearings, but it turned out to be the old tires. I'm not sure what was wrong with them. The 31s don't rub at all, though the tire store did have to take a come-a-long to the smashed up front bumper to get a little extra room. It was buy three get one free on these tires, so they were around $544 out the door. The tires are Firestone Destination ATs...the same thing I had on the Ranger.

looks good, time for a little torsion crank and some warrior shackles? :)

How do you like those Destinations? They are in the running for when my F-150 gets new tires sometime next year.

I have been happy with them, especially for the price. Wet weather traction is good, they are decent off road, and they wear nicely. I was never dissapointed with them in the 30K miles I had them on the Ranger, and with a price that was hundreds less than any other decent 31" tire out there, they were a no brainer for the Explorer.
