hi i im 15 and on a super tight budget after taking the truck out for a spin the other day i realized i could really use some new rubber. iwas wonderind if anyone has used the goodyear wrangler radials and if they would be a good tire for playin in the mud and sand. no need to be good in the snow because im in sunny fl

I haven't had any luck with Goodyear for truck tires. Actually, they sucked on cars too. I have run a few different things. I highly recommend Toyo Open Country AT's if you want a street tire that can handle some off road fun. They can be found cheap enough. If you want a tire with less mileage but beter off-road manners look to the Cooper STT's.

thanks because i dont think i will be hardly taking the truck on road it will spend almost all its time off road. so the goodyears suck off road or they arent good on road?

there not bad, check out pepboys. i run a dakota futura tire in the winter that clocely resembles the bfg a/t. does very well and only about 52 bucks a tire fore the 235/15 size. you wont find a bfg for that.

are you talking about the definity dakota because i just called up pepboys and they want 108 a peice but you get the fourth free. so would the goodyears be alright though.

the goodyear wrangler is a old tire design that was used primary for wranglers OE in the early 90's. Goodyear just started making them again. They are good sand tires but def not mud tires. They are cheap and good tires for the 16 yr old who has little to no money. They are also great in snow (i know your in FL) they come with LOTS of sipes in the tread blocks. When i wear the tires down on my wifes Explorer, i will be replacing them with the radials.

Found that site the other day. It is pretty good I think.

What tire you get really depends on how much you are willing to spend and what size you want.

Are you looking at stock size tires, slightly larger (30"s-31"s), or bigger (32"s-33"s).

Found the site I was looking for : http://treadwright.com/Tires-31x10_50R15_M_T-P16.aspx

They have sheap retreaded tires. I have heard good and bad about retreads, but, they can't be that bad if Semi's use them.. I was going to get a set but I got a better deal on used tires.

That is another place to look. Go to Criagslist and search on there. You'd be amazed the deals you can find on good tires.

If I were you, I'd seriusly look into retreaded tires.

thanks because the goodyears for 4 are 260 and the bfgs have a 20$ shipping fee for each tire so they are 320 a set.

I'm happy with my BFG A/T KO's. Pretty good all around tire.... sticks to the road, good tread wear, good for light to medium duty trail trips, and best of all I got them at cost:icon_thumby:

check out the pathfinder all terrains at discount tire, simiar tread design to bfg but alot cheaper, they are a pretty decent tire IMO i ran them on my 2wd ranger and they did alright offroad. i would stay away from the wrangler radials they are junk.

what do you all think of retreaded tires

what do you all think of retreaded tires

check out the tires that they use on humvees, someone here might have mentioned them or knows them(if they arent the ones your askign about) but they are used on alot of the baja trucks, and a great well rounded florida tire. Stay out of the mud if your geared high.

i bougth a set of goodyear wrangler radials today for my wifes explorer. My shop sells a shit load of these tires and everybody comes back liking them.

i have the futura dakodas and they are pretty decent, and they were around 50-60 each and buy three get one free, but that was about two years ago.
