My 2009 2wd standard cab is ready for new shocks. I would like to have a controlled, but not brutal ride. The truck is used for regular street driving. No off-roading (though the condition of Michigan roads often feels like off-road driving...). Any suggestions (good or bad experiences)?

Can never really go wrong with Bilstein shocks.

Pretty sure he's looking for cheap oem replacements...

I have had the Monroe sensa-tracs on my '94 2WD for about 4 years without issue.
Got them on sale at Canadian tire and they work as promised.

I like them because of the variable damping. Less in the mid stroke of the shock for a smooth ride, firmer as the shock travels for control.

Certainly not bilsteins, but also quite affordable, especially if you can find them on sale.

I have Bilsteins on my truck... comfortable ride is NOT in their range of capability.

And as for price... they are not cheap.

As I recall it the repalcement cost for ONE bilstein shock is on par with a SET of
Monroe Sensa Tracks if you get thr Monroes on sale, the belsteins are NEVER on sale.
