my clutch is about toast, the truck is about to go under surgery for a lift and 35" tires, so if it's down it might as well be fixed...

I've gone through a couple stock replacement Napa clutches over the years, I was thinking about a Centerforce Stage 1 this time around, thoughts? is there a better option, and who has the best price?

technically but not really... I want the opinion of the people that actually have turbo 2.3's, this is the only place that most of them see on a regular basis...

Well yea I guess if you think about it

best price ive found is jegs so far for the centerforce, anyone have experience with one with an M5OD? or another heavy duty clutch?

thanks

lots of guys over on TRF say the clutchnet.com clutches work good, i havent tried yet but i plan to get one of the 4 puck ones from them soon

get a pressure plate and flywheel for a 88 turbo coupe then go on clutchnet and get a disc for a 3.0 ranger the 4 puck has been tested to hold 30psi and is able to be used as a dd clutch

I have the CF stage 2 pressure plate from an 88 Turbocoupe (9" diameter), and a 6 puck ceramic clutch from an early Turbocoupe (8 7/8" diameter).

You can not use a later Turbocoupe disc with the CF discs because they are 9 1/16" diameter. I know from experience.

This is a very stiff clutch that does not allow much modulation. It is a race clutch. Also the ceramic holds up very well, but eats the flywheel and pressure plate. I took it out after 1 year of usage and didn't notice any wear on the disc, but there was a lot of wear on the FW and PP. It'll probably last 2.5 years DD duty with occasional spirited driving, and few launches and burnouts. It will hold as much power as you can make though. A guy out in Ohio was running 11 flat in his ranger with almost this same setup (4 puck vs 6 puck).

This was gonna be my suggestion was a stage 2 from centerforce, just dont buy ebay. I would find a friend that owns a custom shop see if he can get a deal as a dealer. If you do a puck style clutch they are strong as a freggin ox! but dont get the kind without the springs. I dont know what they are called but make sure you get the one with the springs or you will have no daily drivability.
