Gonna figure out the check engine light soon( think its just the wiring to the CEL itself), then its off to the referee to make it California smog legal!!!! :3gears:
 
oooo....sexxxay! if i werent building a house this year, we could be boosting together...o well, to the back burner it goes
 
Your interior didn't come in black stock did it? I re-did my interior several years ago to make it black and grey because I hated the colored interiors.
 
Now you just ned to clean up those wires and you'll be good.

Does it have an inner-cooler and if not can you legally put in an inner-cooler?
 
Davis---- no, i had to dye all the plastics black...... it was originally that awful red that I think just about every Ranger has had in it at one time or another :icon_rofl:

dangerranger83---- yep, it has the stock 87-88 intercooler on it for now..... after getting the engine swap verified and smog legal in CA, I'm gonna add a front mount intercooler

red85---- It is an Aerostar grille (89-91 has the center mounted emblem, I didn't like the newer grilles with the emblem mounted close to the top) fitted into the Ranger grille shell (couple of hours of cutting and test-fitting along with LOTS of plastic weld!!!)
 
Good looking truck. Did you talk to a ref before doing the swap or no? Im wanting to start getting parts to boost my '92 but have heard horror stories when it comes to Cali DMV. Im in the valley.
 
Hey Everybody!!! Haven't been on in a while (just got back from my vacation in Las Vegas), but hopefully gonna work on it on Saturday..... new problem have developed, has a VERY BAD oil leak coming from the oil line that feeds the turbo....... Gonna try and replace that and find out why my ACT circuit is open (hopefully just a bad sensor, but I'm thinking there may be problem in the wiring).......... other than that, not much new going on with it, runs like a scalded dog and get incredibly horrible gas mileage (probably due to my heavy left foot!!!! :3gears:).......
 
Wait your LEFT foot is the skinny pedal one?
 
I gotta shift, don't I? With my RIGHT foot mashed to the floor, 14 pounds of boost makes the tach swing pretty fast!!!! So far, the Centerforce clutch is holding up OK!!!! Not sure how long the trans might last.......... I'm gonna try to make it to the raceway here before long and see what kinda times it'll turn....... Hopefully I'll get the rear end changed before then.......

Fixed the oil leak today..... oil line feeding the turbo had a HUGE crack in the line..... replaced it with a two-piece line and a small high-pressure hose in the middle, no more vibrations to crack the line again!!!!
 
sweet. i fear that when i do my truck up that my mileage will jst suck for the first...uh...forever till i overcome the need to boost it all the time
 
I still haven't finished tuning it yet, so yea, I'm getting pretty crappy mileage right now.... at least now, it won't pee all over the driveway when I park it!!!!
