The dreaded rocker tick had been gone for quite a while but it's back now and just doesn't want to leave me in peace, so the time has come to change some components. I'm, seeing Sealed Power on Rockauto for about $13 each, but what do I need for pushrod length? My motor's all stock, never been out (to my knowledge). Do I get stocker replacements? Something longer?
I've been reading on the site for an hour or so now and have seen so many people going so many different directions I'm not sure what path to take. This is my daily driver, never off-roaded, never raced or beaten on. I just want her dependable and quiet. What do I do here now?

No comments so far....hmmm. Guess I'll order stock stuff. What are the common thoughts on Elgin components?

Jumped into this today. Ordered Elgin parts off of ebay, even called them to make sure they were what I needed. Got rockers and pushrods for about $115. Took about 6 hours to get her done, probably would've been less if I'd been a little more familiar with the motor. Once I got a look at the old rocker sockets and pushrod tips it was obvious what the deal was. Many of the sockets had been wallered out, to the point the oiler hole was about twice it's normal size. The mating pushrod tips weren't mushroomed, they looked almost ground down. I slathered everything up with STP and reassembled it all and the noises are all but gone. I do have a little something that I think may be a lifter tick, but compared to what it was I can certainly live with it now.
