Owner claims a noisy 3rd gear. This model truck is the type that I actually do want with the extended cab hopefully it will pan out I should know by Tuesday night wish me well? Bee cause... We have a M5OD in storage.

Check the frame out esp. the left rail along the gas tank. The Rat is a rusted piece of junk that I should have driven straight to the junkyard and taken the 300$ loss. OTOH, the 94 4.0/5spd/4wd is one of the better yrs. I just wish I had found one in better shape.

Thanks everyone!! It just makes more sense to get another truck with the components I want rather than try and make the truck I have into the truck I want.

If the trans is noisy like a twither sound the trans may need rebuild. When I got the one I have thought it was a throwout bearing, turns out it had leaked the fluid out sometime in past and mainshaft was trashed. about $900 to rebuild plus I pulled replaced, also did clutch etc at same time. 50000 later would not stay in OD another 500 or so the repair, but that has been the biggest issue with the truck, everything else fairly minor. Over 300000 on it now still runs strong.

I'm looking at trucks like this because I have a transmission and engine in storage, if I did my homework on the tech pages the m5od is the same all the way up to about 2001

Got a new (old) Beast!

94 XLT super cab
NEW tires, (33s I think) same deerfoot 15" wheels.

4.0 is not leaking as much oil as the one in my long bed 93 auto.
Top 2" or so of dipstick tube is missing.

No mistake, the transmission is bad! it's noisy shaky but smooth 4th & 5th and that's how we were able to drive it two and a half hours back to my friends house!

Bed is not too bad.

Frame under L&R cab is rusty & flaking but still good. The rear shackles are still in place but we will need to do some beefing up, & welding for the bumper & hitch anyway.

Does anyone make pre-cut weld in parts for the frames? (not that we can't do it ourselves)

Interior is Smoker's dream and non-smokers nightmare, ugh.

Headliner is missing.

General filthiness all around.

Slow/sticking electric windows and some other electrical accessories.

187 on the 5 digit OD, owner thought it was 87 lol.

More in the morning!

Good looking truck, and it pays to have extra parts. Don't think any place makes a patch kit for the frame. Heard over the years individuals have made their own patch plates for frame repairs.

If your wanting to rid the chrome on that truck. I will take the center chrome grille. :D
Thanks! Grille us cracked lol dorman makes frame parts. I was mildly surprised .
My friend knows how to weld very well I learned a little bit but I'll never be a welder no matter how much I dance flash lol.

Interesting a company makes that. I see the top molding is cracked. Was not aware the lower center piece is cracked. Had to ask, been searching for another piece for a long time.
Did you check LMC Truck catalog?
