Going to Quit Smoking

been talking about quitting dipping, though everytime i start to i just end up going at it harder....like this week...lol

the pregnant wife isnt helping me much.

Thanks so much guys!
Made it through day 2.
I have an unopened pack in my truck so I don't have to think about "Being out" if you know what I mean.
I'm using the patch, cant really tell if it helps or not.Just loaded up the old 72 360 Yamaha for a trade with a friend of mine (Getting a 86 XL250r) reached in my pocket for a cigg and laughed at myself because they weren't there....lol!

Thanks again guys it really means a lot!

that reminds me of the commercials where the people dont know how to do even the basic stuff they used to do while they smoked, lol.

Its about the freakin truth!
Every time you finish something you want to light up,Its crazy.

I used Champix and quit drinking in order to quit smoking [30 years/pack and a half]. Two years now. I've tried quitting at least 30 times before so it's not failure if you don't succeed this time... it's a learning experience.

another way i keep from picking them up again is thinking about the money i'll save. if ciggs are just $5 a pack times 2 packs a day equals $70 a week, times 52 weeks a year is $3640!!! do that for 5 years and you've spent $18,200

i'm sure you didnt smoke 2 packs everyday, but it gives you a ballpark. imagine if you had just saved that $10 a day, with interest after 5 years in a savings account. you could buy yourself some nice new toys with that.

You can do this, Chad. Stay strong.

thats how i am, finish a coke...throw in a dip. finish eating...throw in a dip. finish something at work...throw in a dip.

its getting old, i may just have to actually quit here soon. its killing me.

Don't use chantix, it messed my uncle up. it makes him itch all the time(wtf) and he has to take anti depressants or he gets all crazy. And this is still going on after he stopped for a while

Well you know well my opinions on quitting smoking as I have posted it many times in the forums.

I wish you all the best with it. Break a leg and hang in there with it! This is the one thing you can win by quitting. Kick butts mister!

I think you guys know my story......

I was flippin thru the bible---

there it was.......

"You shall not burn unauthorized incense in the temple of God".....

(well, I flipped thru another 700 or so pages)

then......

there it was.....

"Do you not realize that your body is the temple of God?"

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......

I'm pretty stupied.....but even i could connect those two dots!!!

It was a mental battle (which of course made me the underdog)....

But...............i did it.....................By God.....literally!!!!!

So.....hang in there & quit often enuff that you're quitting more days than you're smoking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was at a little more than a pack and a half a day, about $80 or more per week.
Found a 83 Honda XL600R with 4300 miles on it,looks showroom. If I dont smoke by the end of July Im getting it.

On day 4 and havent cheated.

Good Luck on breaking your 'bad' habit. The Honda dirtbike seems like it's worth the "Temptation"...Only 30 more days to go-

I have to admit that I've been smoking more than not lately. Kind of a part timer.

One thing I noticed is that when I'm not I'm not making sure I have the cigs and a lighter available. If I go on an errand I don't have to make sure that I have them with me. When I do smoke I have to sweat because using the a/c while smoking is just awful so I have to leave the windows open.

Going without is so much more convenient.
