Going from 14" to "15"

OKay, '88 regular cab 2wd V6 longbed and I've got American Racing Wheels with dinky tires....thinkin' about going to 15" with wide whites...what are the issues with increasing wheel and tire size?

Main issue is offset/backspace on the wheel. Not sure what your current wheel tire size is, but being as both are aftermarket wheels the widths and backspace options between the 14 and 15 inch tire will probably be pretty similar. The biggest issue with going to a wider tire is potential rubbing. Most people don't encounter an issue until they go really tall or really wide.

What size wheels (14x?) and tires do you have now? Do you happen to know the offset/backspace on them?

What size wheels (15x?) and tires do you plan to run?

P205/75R 14s on it now, not sure on the back spacing

measure the back spacing on your current rims. try to keep it similar..

you could go to a 195-225 60-65r-15
or to a 195-225 50-55r-16.
keeping in mind you want the same clearance from the fenders, frame and diameter of the tires after mounting.
now if you want wider tires.
a 235-60r-15
or a 235-50r-16
should get you close..
be sure to check fitment before mounting all of the tires/wheels.

I have a 96 Ranger club cab 4x2 that has 225/70R14s and would like to know if 4x4 rims will fit or if they are different also I would like to know about 15" cross over and what is the biggest 15" tire that would work on a stock 96 4x2
