a glasspack takes that sharp cackle sound out that you get with a streight pipe. other then that, there isnt much difference in sound.

I have a cherrybomb glasspack on my 86 2.9, and once it got broken in, it actually sounds pretty decent, low rumbly on idle, and a loud rumble at WOT

well i had one to and all i can say is its like a muffled straight piped sound. its not bad but cops aren't to keen on it

I have a shell of a glasspack on my 4.0L. little short one, about 18inches long maybe.(came on the truck)...its really not loud at all at idle or under 2500rpm, but once you hit 3 grand while on the go pedal it sounds like a pissed off hornet in a can. and gets on the louder side.I cant say that I like the sound, but its not to awful. I also have cat on my truck..

it would be louder with 1, obviously.

"better" is a matter of opinion. personally, i think single exhaust with a glasspack sounds kind of silly.

we finally agree on sumtin wicked sludge! glass packs r meant for dual exhaust v6 and up motors. I would say magna flow or flow master. i like rice burners so i went with a 3aracing import muffler.

i had 2 3a racing fart cans side by side on my ole 3.0 w/ a magnaflow cat, sounded pretty good, then i dropped the cat (stopped up) you want to talk about loud...anyway i contemplated paks on my trk then i heard another ranger w/ them and 2 more w/ dual and single setups one w/ 6s one w/ 12s and another w/ 18s, that was the most rice ive ever eaten in one sitting. the fart cans sounded better to me cuz they werent all raspy it was a smooth rumble and fluttered when cruising around 2500rpm. 3k yes it droned i didnt really like it but when i opened it up you could def tell it was me. the paks droned worse in my opinion at any speed, and crackled the whole way. my advice, anything smaller than a v8 should stay away from paks. those of you that have them and are content, happy for you and ill do what ill do w/ my trk, you have yours do what your going to do w/ it.
